
Raffaele D’Angelo is one of the most active and versatile Italian pianists of his generation. He is acclaimed for his interpretative depth, refined touch, and the rare ability to blend emotional intensity with stylistic precision. His career unfolds with balance between solo performance, chamber music, and a deep commitment to artistic direction and cultural organization.


His orchestral collaborations include performances with the Berliner Symphoniker, Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra, San Luis Potosí Symphony Orchestra, Instituto Politécnico Nacional Orchestra, Romanian Philharmonic Orchestra, “Vincenzo Galilei” Orchestra of the Fiesole School of Music, Atlantida Chamber Orchestra, Academy of Soloists Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese.
Raffaele D’Angelo graduated with honors and special mention from the “G. da Venosa” Conservatory of Potenza, studying under Marco Schiavo. He then pursued advanced training at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, where he studied with Ingrid Fliter, Alessandro Taverna, and Franco Scala. He completed his Master’s degree in Musicology and Musical Heritage with highest distinction and earned a Postgraduate Master in Cultural Event and Festival Management at the Treccani Academy.
Alongside his performance career, D’Angelo is a prominent figure in the cultural life of his native region. He served on the Board of Directors of both the State Conservatory of Music “G. da Venosa” in Potenza and the University of Basilicata.
He regularly performs both as a soloist and chamber musician in Italy and abroad. He has appeared on the stages of some of the most prestigious concert halls, including the Berliner Philharmonie – Grosser Saal, Mozarteum Salzburg – Großer Saal, Rudolfinum in Prague, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid – Sala Sinfónica, Kazakh Central Concert Hall, National Opera & Ballet in Skopje, and the Bulgaria Chamber Hall.
He has worked alongside internationally renowned conductors and soloists such as Bruno Canino, Ludmil Angelov, Sara Assabayeva, Gudni Emilsson, Evgeny Bushkov, and Claude Villaret, and has collaborated with celebrated actors and stage artists including Rocco Papaleo, Michele Placido, and Paolo Conticini, often integrating musical programs with theatrical and multidisciplinary projects.
He currently serves as President and Artistic Director of the Basilicata Concert Society, promoting the dissemination of classical music through festivals, concert seasons, and educational initiatives. Since 2023, he has also collaborated as an artist and consultant with the Italian Society for Chamber Music on various European tours.
His artistic journey reflects a vision of music as a bridge between peoples, a heritage to be preserved, and a universal language of beauty and awareness.
